Seen from low orbit, Nif-Nakh looks just like an organic beeing wounded badly by a predator: the planet is almost completely covered by a green jungle hell, with a couple of small oceans and seas of blood red color, and gaps of red weed. The name Nif-Nakh actually derives from the Split language, meaning Gangrenous Wound.

Nif-Nakh, as seen from the ground, is an extraordinarily beautiful world to Split as well as Human. It's deep, contrasting blue sky is awe-inspring and intense; it's wondrously strange flora and fauna that mostly ignores otherworldly visitors as if invisible, gives the planet an unreal, magical touch.

Sometimes, though, the fauna of the planet does not ignore visitors, and if it choses not to, it get's problematic. About 90% of Nif-Nakh's fauna is insectoid, top of the food chain beeing the Ghok, a huge and dreadful insect immensly dangerous to Split and Human alike. Many of the insects defend themselves with acid, some forms of which can get extremely dangerous to a Teladi's scale plates, while not harming other species, and vice versa.

Historically, Nif-Nakh is property of the ([[Patriarch[[) of all Split, and thus the only habitation allowed is the (Patriarch's) Palace on the southern hemisphere. However, decazuras ago, a group of rogue Split under the command of (Rhonkar t'Ncct) and his bondslave wife (Aqhn) managed to establish the village (Ghus-tan) on the northern hemisphere, not beeing discovered by the (Patriarch's) forces thus far.
