When station repair technology was first invented it was done manually by teams of astronaughts who went out with tools. This process was often long and costly. Until the advent of Repair Drones. Based on the same design as the Fighter Drones, Repair Drones are much slower and contain a new laser system.

The repair laser acts like a welding gun, and uses welds new teladianium plating to damaged sections of stations hull. These are often remote controlled by a group of people onboard a control ship which also holds the teladianium plating ready to apply to the stations.

This service is often costly and can take some time to complete, so many people of all races have gone into business and offer their services in trade docks.

Recent laws brought in by most races mean that this service must be set at prices which are not too high. Therefore a fixed rate is applied onto a rate which is based on per hull unit repaired.

With attacks increasing, station owners find themselves in dire need to repair their stations more efficiently. More and more privateer with repair drone technology are offering their services.
