Chemical Drives use a basic chemical reaction to provide a forward thrust, one form being a simple hydrogen oxygen burning reaction. This drive system was once propelled most early ships, however its main drawback is fuel consumption, and the room needed for fuel that is required for sustained use of this type of technology.

Chemical Drives are now only used on missiles and other small devices that cannot fit a plasma generator.
