Wolkenbasis Südwest ist ein argonischer Sektor in der südwestlichen Ecke des Argon-Kerngebietes. Er grenzt an Roter Schein im Norden, Erzgürtel im Osten und dem paranidischen Sektor Minen des Imperators im Süden. Wolkenbasis Südwest besitzt einen radarstörenden Nebel zwischen Nord- und Osttor, in dem sich der berühmte Gonertempel versteckt. Dieser spielt in den meisten Teilen der X-Reihe eine große Rolle. Neben Computerbauteilen stellt der Sektor vor allem Stoff-Rheime für den Export her. Die Nähe zu den asteroidenreichen Sektoren Erzgürtel und Minen des Imperators bietet eine gute Versorgung mit Silizium und Erz.
